📖 Brief History

Angel’s Envy was founded in 2010 by father-son duo Lincoln and Wes Henderson, who pursued a bold new approach to bourbon by finishing it in secondary wine barrels — especially port barrels — to add refined sweetness and complexity.

Their innovation helped set Angel’s Envy apart in the bourbon world, blending traditional Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey with unique finishing techniques that elevate flavor.

In 2015, the brand joined the Bacardi Limited portfolio, expanding its reach while maintaining its pioneering craft.

In 2016, Angel’s Envy completed its downtown Louisville distillery and visitor center — the first full-production whiskey distillery in that area since Prohibition — opening its doors to guests for guided tours, tastings, and immersive experiences.

Today, the distillery combines modern design, expert craftsmanship led by Master Distiller Owen Martin, and intimate visitor experiences that reflect the brand’s ethos and passion for bourbon.
